In addition to contributing as a contractor on key programs for the Canadian Forces (repair and overhaul of Leopard 2 A4 training tanks, 40 mm close area suppression weapon, MASS multi ammunition softkill system for the Halifax Class modernization), Rheinmetall Canada has been awarded in 2015 the medium-range radar and integrated soldier system projects contracts by the Canadian government. Rheinmetall Canada is also a proud member of Textron’s successful tactical armoured patrol vehicle team.
The focus on exports will include: soldiers systems, weapon stations, surveillance systems, and robotics. Exports aside, Alain Tremblay, Vice-President Business development and Government relations, says “Our focus is on remaining a partner of choice for the Canadian Armed Forces… and that’s really a long-term relationship we are trying to establish.”
