Cameron McKenzie has been appointed to the position of Vice-President Business Development and Sales at Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC). He leads a professional sales team responsible for working with Canadian exporters and foreign buyers to increase sales to governments around the world. Cameron brings with him a wealth of business development experience and achievements, having served as CAE’s Vice-President and General Manager, Defence & Security for the Middle East.
And another new face at CCC, Ernie Briard has been appointed as Vice-President Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Having recently led the Standards Council of Canada as the Vice-President, Corporate Services and CFO, he brings a proven track record of accomplishments and management experience to the Canadian Commercial Corporation.
Ultra Electronics 3eTI has created a new cyber security position, selecting Nick Khoubbieh as its vice president and general manager of integrated cyber and security solutions.
Greg Yeldon recently stepped down as President at Esterline (CMC) and was replaced by Michel Potvin (shown here) from Esterline Corporate (and from L-3 Mass before that).
Prior to his arrival at CADSI as Vice President, Operations, Paul Keogh held numerous operations, management and senior executive positions with the Shaw Centre (formerly known as the Ottawa Convention Centre). Responsible for the operational oversight and business development opportunities of CADSI, Paul oversees domestic and international professional development and events programs.
Guillaume Côté has just been named Vice President, Technology and Innovation for AIAC Ottawa, where he will manage AIAC’s innovation policy files. As part of an AIAC partnership with the Consortium for Aerospace Research and Innovation in Canada, he will also act as CARIC’s National Director. His appointment is part of a partnership between AIAC and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), where he served as Deputy Director in the Aerospace, Marine and Defence Branch.
After leaving Thales Canada a year ago to join the CSC capture team at Lockheed Martin Canada, Simon Hughes has now moved on to become the Director of Canadian Naval Programs at Lockheed Martin.
Tony White, who was with the NATO HQ Media Operatons Centre in Brussels for 7 years, and then a brief time at ADGA, is now at General Dynamics Canada.
| Nortrax Poised for Future Growth with New Facility in Ottawa, Ontario With procurement, actions always speak louder than words. It would appear that with the recent official opening of a new 33,000 square foot flagship sales and service facility, John Deere/Nortrax is gearing up, not just for an expansion of its local construction and forestry business, but for government and DND sales as well. Senior company representatives recently welcomed Mayor Jim Watson and local Councillor Eli El-Chantiry for an opening celebration. The invitees included dozens of commercial customers as well as representatives from DND. In recent years, the company has had a steady flow of orders for heavy equipment from the Canadian military. The word is that Deere and Company are gearing up for the Common Heavy Equipment Replacement Program, which is estimated at between $500 million to $1.5 billion. |
| GE to provide Gas Turbines for Japan’s new 8,200-ton Aegis Destroyers GE Marine Solutions announced it will provide IHI, Tokyo, Japan, with two LM2500 aeroderivative marine gas turbines for the Japan Maritime Self Defense Forces (JMSDF) new 8,200-ton class Aegis destroyer. “GE’s LM family of gas turbines are already part of numerous JMSDF ships, most recently the Izumo-class DDH helicopter carriers and 5,000-ton class destroyer programs,” said Brien Bolsinger, Vice President, Marine Operations, in Ohio. GE LM gas turbines are used by 34 navies worldwide to power more than 500 ships. The current global LM fleet totals more than 4,200 engines operating in diverse marine and industrial applications. The gas turbines for the new Aegis destroyer will be equipped with integrated electronic controls, in a Combined Gas turbine-eLectric And Gas turbine (COGLAG) configuration. IHI will deliver the LM2500 propulsion modules to the shipyard, Japan Marine United Corporation, in 2018. |
