A new contract has been awarded to Houston-based ABS Americas. Under the terms of the contract, ABS Americas will ensure that environmental standards onboard Canada's non-combatant fleet are met, and that the ships continue to be safe to operate.

For the first time in history, the Queen’s Guard at Buckingham Palace is commanded by a Canadian Army female Infantry Officer. Captain Megan Couto of the 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry is the first female Infantry Officer to command the Queen’s Guard.

The German Navy’s fourth and final F125 frigate Rheinland-Pfalz was christened during a ceremony held at the ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems shipyard in Hamburg. The class is designed for conflict prevention, crisis management and intervention/stabilization operations.
