BREAKING: Cdn helicopter missing off the coast of Greece

A Canadian Cyclone helicopter deployed on HMCS Fredericton has gone missing while on a NATO exercise with allies off the western coast of Greece in the Ionian Sea. DND has confirmed that a search and rescue mission is underway at this time. 

The CH-148 Cyclone was participating in a NATO exercise earlier today, as part of Operation Reassurance.  HMCS Fredericton set sail on 20 Jan 2020 for a 6 month deployment on Operation Reassurance which is a NATO-led assurance and deterrence mission that has been ongoing since April 2014.

No further information has been released, but unconfirmed reports of a crash are circulating in local media.
