Michael Robinson died suddenly on Canada Day at his Normandy home at the age of 65. Mike was a trusted friend and advisor to many respected politicians, business leaders and government professionals across Canada.

Keith Gladstone has joined CAE as Director Strategy & Business Development EMEA in Germany.
In less than a year, Paul Turner has moved from a Business Development role to Director in the Military Products Division at Scepter Canada Inc.
Recently retired from the Canadian Armed Forces where he was the Commanding Officer at 17 Wing Det Dundurn for the past two years, and Deputy Weapons System (Aircraft Fleet) Manager before that, Mike Sharp has just accepted a position at Lockheed Martin as the new CC130J Performance Management Lead.
Major David Rutkay, is now DLR 7 at National Defence.
Randy Shelly, a technical and project management specialist at Raedwulf Space and Defence, has been chosen as the Senior Project Manager for DND’s Polar Epsilon 2 project.
Formerly at the Canadian Forces Air Warfare Centre (CFAWC) William O’Gorman has started a new position with Transport Canada as a Flight Test Engineer.
For the past few months, Col John Casey has been holding down the fort in Alabama as J7 Deputy Director Joint Training and Exercises at NORAD and NORTHCOM.
Former Commandant at CMR St-Jean, Jennie Carignan is now Chief of Staff, Army Operations with the Canadian Army.
LCol Chris McKenna who, until recently, was the CO at 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron, is now a Graduate Student at the National Security Programme at the Canadian Forces College.
Tim Kenney is now the Deputy Commanding Officer, of 3 RCR.
Tom Riefesel is now Detachment Commander Personnel Coordination Centre at the Royal Canadian Navy.
After 35 years of service (the last three as Defence Attaché to Italy, Greece, Albania, Croatia, Slovenia and Malta), Spike Hazleton has retired from the Canadian Armed Forces.

Change of Command for Vice Chief of the Defence Staff
5 August – (from left) Vice-Admiral Mark Norman assumed the role of VCDS, the second in command of the Canadian Armed Forces, General Jonathan Vance presided at the Change of Command as LGen Guy Thibault retired.
JPSU restructures under a new Commanding Officer
5 August – Brigadier-General Dave Corbould assumed command of the Joint Personnel Support Unit (JPSU), a national unit in support of ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members. Lieutenant-General Christine Whitecross, Commander Military Personnel Command, presided over the Change of Command ceremony.

Change of Command for Operation Unifier in Ukraine
9 August – Colonel Michael Blackburn (centre) supervised the Transfer of Command Authority as the new commander of Joint Task Force-Ukraine, Lieutenant-Colonel Wayne Niven (left), assumed command from LCol Tim Arsenault during a ceremony at the International Peacekeeping and Security Centre in Starychi, Ukraine. Since the start of the mission in Sept. 2015, more than 1700 Ukrainian Armed Forces have participated in the training provided by the CAF.
