Rheinmetall to supply ammo to Ukraine
The German Ministry of Defence has tasked Rheinmetall with supplying 300,000 rounds of 35mm ammunition for the Gepard anti-aircraft tank, which is now deployed by the Ukrainian military. Valued in the low three-digit million euro range, the first shipments are expected to be delivered this summer.
Cormorant Mid-Life Upgrade and Simulator contracts awarded
Leonardo U.K. has been awarded a contract for up to $1.168 billion for helicopter upgrades and to increase the CH-149 fleet size from 13 to 16 helicopters to support the national 24/7 SAR service. A second contract, worth $78 million (taxes included), went to Montreal-based global simulator giant CAE for the training solution.

DND signs major clothing & footwear contract
Defence Minister Anita Anand has announced that Quebec-based Logistik Unicorp won a contract to provide operational clothing and footwear to the Canadian Armed Forces. Valued at up to $3.7 billion over 20 years, this contract will support more 3000 jobs and will deliver approximately 1,222 different items of clothing and footwear worn by CAF members during deployments.
CAE USA awarded contract to support space research
A prototype contract from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicles Directorate’s Simulation & Technology Assessment Branch has been awarded to CAE USA. The prototype is part of an initiative with the Space Technology Advanced Research – Fast-tracking Innovative Software and Hardware or STAR-FISH.

Volatus to provide RPAS training to Moose Cree First Nation

Lockheed Martin has confirmed the successful completion of contracted Industrial and Regional Benefits (IRB) obligations – valued at just over $425 million – associated with three Canadian programs. A total of 93 Canadian businesses, colleges and universities benefited from their inclusion in these programs.

Stoeger Canada to deliver sniper rifles
Defence Minister Anita Anand announced today that 229 new cutting edge multi-calibre bolt-action sniper rifles are on their way to the Canadian Army. This successful procurement milestone represents the final major piece of Canada’s Sniper Systems project. The contract, valued at $2.6 million was awarded to Stoeger Canada.
Saudis may purchase Israeli defence systems
Saudi Arabia has expressed its interest in the immediate purchase of some Israeli made air defence systems. According to an Israeli senior defence source there are advanced negotiations about some of the systems. In recent weeks, media coverage of Israel's ties with Saudi Arabia has increased ahead of US President Biden's possible visit to Saudi Arabia during his Middle East visit in late June.
HMNZS Te Mana modernization completed
