Thomas is a recognized international expert on border safety, security and migration management. His career began in the CBSA, and in 1993 was appointed Regional Immigration Control Officer accredited to 13 countries. After many major contributions and promotions he was soon recognized for establishing innovative intelligence reporting and counter trafficking programs in Central and Eastern Europe. He is a founding member and since 2003 the Executive Director of BORDERPOL?, a global body of security and migration experts, distinguished diplomats and recognized academics. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, is married, has two children, three grandchildren and currently resides near Toronto, Ontario.
